After obtaining her degree in industrial design, Zara Dramov, the designer and founder of The Common Knowledge, began examining new and different ways to manipulate leather, challenging the accessories market and traditional manufacturing methods. The brand has received significant acclaim for its unique design and quality from publications such as Harper's Bazaar, Refinery29, and C Magazine, among many others. In addition, Zara was honored in 2014 to be selected as one of fifteen "Young Guns" in design by Racked.

Every once in a great while, a young talent (ahem, Alexander Wang and Prabal Gurung) will come along and stop us dead in our tracks. And, right now, that’s recent California College of the Arts grad Zara Dramov, behind handbag brand The Common Knowledge. Inspired by three-dimensional structure, this new line only stocks two styles at present, but, quite frankly, that’s all it really needs. Because, they’re that good.
California College of the Arts graduate Zara Dramov is leaving her mark on the accessories map. Her design approach is unlike most; she has a degree in industrial design and a three dimensional eye
